About

My name is Daniel. Sport has been part of my life since childhood. I started with karate, tennis and football. Over time I moved towards other disciplines: skiing and ski touring in winter, cycling, SUP and open water swimming in summer.

In 2013, during a ski trip, I watched someone struggle with a DIN binding chart. The table was right there on the wall, but it made no sense to them. They were guessing. That bothered me.

I'm a software engineer by profession. So I did what engineers do. I built a simple calculator that translated the ISO 11088 standard into a single answer. No table, no guessing. Just the right number.

That calculator is still here. It's been running since 2013.

Cycling became my second big passion. The deeper I went into it, the more questions I had and the harder it was to find clear answers. One thing that bothered me for a long time was nutrition on the bike. I didn't know how to fuel properly during long rides. I was guessing, bonking, learning the hard way. So I built the cycling nutrition calculator, not for anyone else first, but for myself. To understand what my body actually needs at different intensities and durations.

That's how most tools on this site were born. A real problem, a standard that exists but nobody explains, and a calculator that bridges the gap.

dincalculator.com turns standards into simple decisions.

Every calculator on this site is based on an official standard or established guideline: ISO, DIN, UIAA, WHO, ACSM. No guesswork, no opinions. Just the standard, translated into something useful.

This is not a medical device. Not a substitute for a certified instructor or a trained professional. Standards exist for a reason. I just make them readable.

I hope the results of my work help you pursue your passions and keep you healthy and happy.

Take care,
Daniel
